Event Details
You’re invited to join SOCHE for a virtual lunch and learn entitled “5 Steps for Educators to Build a Social Media Presence,” on Wednesday, Dec. 4, beginning at 12 p.m. ET. The session will be presented by Angelica Kennedy from Cincinnati State Technical & Community College.
Modern educators are required to become more social media savvy. Why? Because our audience lives by their devices, and they connect to their world by using social media.
By their standards, email is an archaic mode of communication. If we want to get their attention, we must go beyond text messaging. We have to provide the information they need to be successful using the tools that they use to communicate.
Social media can be used to provide immediate information to our audience. This lunch and learn will provide an understanding of the importance of the tool, break down the different channels available, help you develop your persona, and discuss content creation for social media.
Participants will learn:
- Understand the importance of social media for this generation
- Learn about the different social media channels
- Develop a social media persona or avatar
- How to develop social media content
