Event Details

According to a recent Student Voice survey, nearly one-third of student respondents spent no time in campus extracurricular activities and half of the respondents spent only one to five hours a week on these activities. There is plenty of data that supports the connections between student engagement and academic performance, as well as between the sense of belonging and retention of students. In this post-pandemic world, one of the most pressing questions faced by college campuses today is “How do we increase student engagement?”

The Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) invites you to participate in a free student engagement virtual discussion on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 12-1 p.m. ET via Zoom. We will spend time together sharing what is working on your campuses, helping participants work through specific concerns, and brainstorming novel ideas for making these crucial connections with the modern student body.

Please join us for a casual discussion that could spark your creativity and provide insights into student engagement initiatives you might not have thought of before.

When: Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 12-1 p.m. ET

Cost:  FREE for all participants

Councils & Committees

SOCHE is dedicated to advancing higher education through active collaboration, resource and knowledge building, and effective professional development programs. To accomplish this, SOCHE administers 16 active Councils and Committees. The purpose of a SOCHE Council or Committee is to provide an opportunity for representatives from higher education to be a resource for one another, share information and best practices, identify common challenges, and, ultimately, broaden awareness of the resources, services, and activities in higher education. SOCHE is also dependent upon the Councils and Committees for substantial input on annual professional development programs.
