Executive Director of the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network
Dr. Paula Compton joined the Ohio Board of Regents in May 2005 as the Director of Articulation and Transfer. In 2009 she became the Associate Vice Chancellor for Articulation and Transfer. In this current position, Dr. Compton provides leadership and direction for all aspects of Ohio’s Articulation and Transfer initiatives, including statewide councils and committees, the Articulation and Transfer Clearinghouse, policy development and implementation, as well as communication and marketing. She is also the Executive Director of the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network started in 2010.
Prior professional positions include serving as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services at The University of Toledo, Enrollment Strategist at The Ohio State University, Senior Director of Admissions and Student Financial Aid at The University of Toledo, and the Associate Director of Admissions at The Ohio State University where she was instrumental in implementing competitive admissions. She also has a background in guidance counseling, academic advising, student services, and college teaching and worked at Miami University, Wright State University, Mount Saint Mary College, University of Connecticut, and Xenia High School.
Dr. Compton earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counseling and Student Personnel Work from The Ohio State University. She was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and Speech Secondary Education from Miami University.
Dr. Compton has been active and has held leadership positions with the Ohio Association of College Admission Counseling, the National Association of College Admission Counseling, and the Think College Now: Northwest Ohio College Access Program, and the Ohio ACT Assembly. She also helped to establish the Multi-State Collaborative on Military Credit. She has received several awards for her professional service.
Sara Conwell

Sara Conwell is the Assistant Director of Advising & Programming within the Adult & Transfer Center at Northern Kentucky University. With over a decade of experience in higher education, Sara has gained experience within the realm of financial aid and tuition billing processes before transitioning to advising and working with the adult and transfer learner populations. Sara is passionate in helping come-backer students return to finish their degree through the Project Graduate initiative, and advocating for the equity and inclusion of the adult learner population. Sara is proud to be part of NKU’s Age-Friendly Coalition, and helping NKU become the first Age-Friendly University in the state of Kentucky. Sara has previously served as Northern Kentucky University’s Staff Congress President, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies and a Master of Arts in Adult and Higher Education, both from Morehead State University.
Maureen Cooper

Maureen Cooper is currently the College Credit Plus Manager at Franklin University. Before joining the College Credit Plus Department in 2017, she worked for two years as the Community College Representative for Urbana University Branch Campus of Franklin University, assisting community college students through the transfer process. Throughout her 15-year career in higher education, she has also worked in various roles such as Admissions, Academic Advising, and Continuing Education. Maureen has a B.S. in Biology from Wright State University. She is passionate about the power of education to change lives and enjoys assisting students in meeting their educational goals.
Amy Danzo
Director, Adult & Transfer Center | Director, Testing Services
Northern Kentucky University
Amy Danzo currently serves as the Director of the Adult and Transfer Center and the Director of Testing Services at Northern Kentucky University. She oversees recruitment, advising, admissions, processing, software and technology, operations, test administration, and revenue generation in these roles. Ms. Danzo has been at NKU since 2008 and has served in various roles focusing on access, student success, and alternative credit options. In addition, she has been a writer for Northern Kentucky University’s CPE Diversity yearly report. She’s worked extensively with faculty and staff to develop a robust offering of credit-for-prior learning options at NKU. Her current projects include business, industry, and apprenticeship pathways to higher education; improving the onboarding process for adult and transfer students; creating better collegiate access for the millions of students who have some college and no degree; and finishing her dissertation for the Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership program at Northern Kentucky University.
Rachel Fulton

Rachel Fulton currently serves the University of Cincinnati (UC) as a Sr Transfer & Articulation Specialist in the Transfer Center focusing on developing and maintaining articulation agreements and Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways for all academic colleges. Rachel previously served UC in this role from 2019-2021. Beyond UC, she has served in articulation, advising, and transfer professional roles at Wright State University, the institution formerly known as IUPUI, and Ivy Tech Community College and has been a transfer champion with an advising heart since 2010.
Candice Grant, Ph.D.

Dr. Candice Grant serves as the Senior Director, Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways with the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network at the Ohio Department of Higher Education. In her current role, she oversees all facets of statewide pathway creation. She is committed to the development and implementation of student-centered and faculty-driven policies that address equity gaps within higher education.
She earned a Ph.D. in Education Policy Studies (International Comparative Education) from Indiana University, a Master of Arts in Educational Policy & Leadership from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and French and Francophone Studies along with a Bachelor of Science in Management from Case Western Reserve University.

In her current role at Miami University, Cathy Moore serves as the Coordinator of Transfer Partnerships, Articulation, and Prior Learning. She collaborates with academic departments and external constituencies to develop transfer recruitment plans, articulation agreements, and program pathways, actively promoting the university as a prime destination for transfer students. Cathy is a lifelong transfer champion having been a transfer student herself early in her academic journey.
Amelia Salazar, Ed.D.

Amelia Salazar has focused her career on designing institutional structures and strategies to support student success and maximize social mobility. Working with a variety of institution types from large R1 universities to smaller public regional colleges, the strategies are situated in each institution’s needs and student population with an emphasis on holistic student success and relational-based approaches. Dr. Salazar’s research and teaching agenda has focused on transfer students, high impact practices, assessment in higher education, mentorship, learning loss, and college readiness of academically at-risk students. She earned a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Alabama, a Master’s in Higher Education Administration and Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Central Florida.
Jared Shank
Senior Director, Military and Apprenticeship Initiatives and Special Projects

Jared Shank is the Senior Director of Military and Apprenticeship Initiatives and Special Projects at the Ohio Articulation and Transfer Network at the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Prior to working in higher education, Jared served in the Army. His military background gave him a strong interest in helping service members and veterans succeed in higher education. Jared is responsible for MTAGs, Apprenticeship Pathways, and leading projects related to military credit such as the Ohio Values Veterans initiative. Jared earned his Bachelor of Arts in geography (G.I.S.) and his Master of Science in earth and environmental sciences (geophysics) both from Wright State University.
Myshamil Walker, Ed.D.

Dr. Myshamil Walker is a Mathematics Professor, motivational speaker, and student advocate. Dr. Walker is an AmeriCorp member, alumna of Cincinnati State, and member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Walker serves as the Director of Cincinnati State’s Transfer Center, as well as adjunct math faculty teaching Quantitative Reasoning. In addition, she is also the Lead Online Affiliate General Math Faculty at Union Institute and University where she has taught various math courses from Contemporary Math to Content & Methods for Teaching Mathematics to Elementary School Children for the past nine years. Dr. Walker also teaches Applied Statistics at Southern New Hampshire University, and Business Statistics I & II at Wilmington College.
Dr. Walker received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Management from Capella University, she holds a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Mathematics Education from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor’s in Social Work from Union Institute and University, an Associate’s of Arts in Psychology & Human Services Certificate from Cincinnati State, and is a proud GED recipient.
Dr. Walker has received recognition and awards for Digital Literacy Innovation in Mathematics, An Instructor Making a Positive Impact on a Student, Student Support Services Student Advocacy Award, published in CINCY for Outstanding Educators in Mathematics, Excellence in Teaching Award, and has been the keynote speaker at various events, sharing her journey from GED to Doctor.
In addition to being a SOCHE Articulation and Transfer Council member, Dr. Walker is also a member of the Ohio SW Region Transfer Steering Team, Ohio Transfer Council, the Cincinnati Chapter of Business and Professional Women (BPW), and Test Prep & Tutoring Professionals.

Karlyn Yocum

Karlyn Yocum is a Transfer Advisor in the Adult & Transfer Center at Northern Kentucky University and is known as an advocate for single-parent families trying to further their education. Karlyn is currently collaborating with the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (NKCAC) for a Senior Workforce Development Grant. She is also passionate about serving and working with the Donovan Scholar Population, an age-friendly opportunity for those who are 65 years or older to pursue coursework at NKU for either personal enrichment or degree completion. Providing a well-rounded and supportive college experience that sets the adult and transfer learner population for success, equity, and inclusion is something that Karlyn values about her role at NKU. Karlyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Thomas More University, and she will graduate with her Master of Social Work from NKU in May 2025.
